Ashim Bakshi MHS,OTR,CHT
Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist
I specialize in the evaluation and rehabilitation of orthopedic conditions affecting the upper extremity, including the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, shoulder, and the functional demands that connect them. My approach combines detailed clinical assessment, individualized treatment planning, patient education, progressive strengthening, activity modification, and return-to-work or return-to-sport preparation.I work closely with patients, physicians, surgeons, employers, athletic professionals, and rehabilitation colleagues to help people return to the activities that matter most to them—whether that is work, sport, caregiving, exercise, recreation, or everyday function

Conditions treated
My professional work is centered on advanced orthopedic rehabilitation of the upper extremity, clinical education, mentorship, and collaborative care. I maintain a strong focus on evidence-informed practice, skilled clinical reasoning, and practical treatment strategies that help patients regain meaningful function.
I treat a broad range of orthopedic upper-extremity conditions involving the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, shoulder, and related functional limitations. Care is individualized based on diagnosis, tissue healing, symptom irritability, work or sport demands, prior treatment, and the patient’s goals.Conditions Treated
- Shoulder pain, impingement-related symptoms, tendinopathy, stiffness, and instability
- Rotator cuff-related shoulder pain
- Adhesive capsulitis / frozen shoulder
- AC joint and clavicular-region conditions
- Elbow tendinopathy, including lateral and medial elbow pain
-Ulnar-sided elbow pain and throwing-related overload
-Wrist sprains and ligament-related wrist pain
- Tendinopathies of the wrist and hand
- Thumb base pain and osteoarthritis
- Finger sprains and joint stiffness
- Hand and wrist arthritis
-Nerve irritation and compression symptoms, including carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome
- Overuse injuries related to work, computer use, music, fitness, or sportPost-operative rehabilitation is coordinated with the surgeon’s protocol, operative findings, tissue-healing precautions, imaging when available, and the patient’s functional goals. Treatment progresses from protection and controlled mobility to strength, task-specific function, and return to work or sport.
Each surgical procedure has different precautions, timelines, and progression criteria. Rehabilitation is not simply based on the calendar. Progression depends on wound healing, tissue protection, range of motion, pain and irritability, strength, movement quality, work demands, sport demands, and communication with the surgical team.Rotator cuff repair
